Just below the Foxton flight of 10 locks. Restaurant on the left, pub on the right, narrowboats moored for the night. The Leicaster branch of the Grand Union Canal is joined by the Harboro Arm. A good place for spending time (as one inevitably does while queuing for the locks).

2012-08-29 We are heading back to England in a few days for another canal holiday. So here is a shot from 2009 - we realized that we've been doing this for twenty years now. Good heavens. This early morning shot shows a stretch of canal near Worchester.

2012-08-29 The four angels over the main entrance to the church at Steinhof in Vienna (yesterday's picture showed the altar). The church is from Otto Wagner built 1903-1907, the angels from Othmar Schimkowitz.

And thanks for the comments on my dragonfly shot. I went for a long walk on Tuesday - without my camera - and saw more dragonflies than the rest of the summer combined.

2012-08-18 Spotted yesterday in the nearby national park. Dragonflies have been scarce on the ground (so to speak) this year - at least I haven't seen many. I like the back lighting and reflections from the pond. Critiques welcome.

2012-08-15 These so-called 'Enzos' have been around for a decade, giving people a place to stretch out and relax. They are in the courtyards of the Museums Quarter in Vienna. This year's color is 'candy shop pink'.

2012-08-07 Not my usual metier, but my wife wanted to attend this fashion show. It was a public show, put on by the Natural History Museum, using only historically accurate designs and amateur models. It was a bright, hot hot day - everyone else in shorts. I found a higher spot and clicked a few (hundred) shots. The theme was 'from prehistoric times to 1800'.

2012-08-01 Poppy seeds are used in many Austrian pastries. My son (who is in the military) has to be careful not to eat any while he visits us on leave.
