Taken at the opening celebration of the Ostösterreiches Grenzlandweg in Hartberg, Austria in the summer of 1979 - scanned from a 35mm slide.
Celebration 2010-12-3 I've been absent from this forum for the last several days - it seems that it wasn't only the cardboard boxes that got damaged by three days in a wine cellar (see previous picture) - I came down with a head/throat infection :(. But tomorrow is another sale (this time in a warm restaurant!) and Advent only comes once a year. Oh yes, about this picture: from my archives and I can even date it - summer of 1979, at the official opening of the "Eastern Austria Border Trail" in Hartberg. The trail is 700 km (about 440 miles) from the North of Austria around the eastern borders to the south. My wife and I were one of the first to complete this hiking trail, and participated in the opening ceremonies. I think the man's name is Hecht - another member of the hiking club, but I have no idea who the young girls are - certainly local to the area for the parade and celebration. @Agility: Sepia version: http://www.jerrybarton.eu/Landscapes/Austria/7880107_FnEPN#1113285346_vUxnv
