Only for Cows I saw this sign in an Alpine valley south of Vienna. It doesn't translate well. Literally, it means "These meadows may only be walked on by cows." But "to be a cow" is a common insult in Austria - it is even in the dictionary as "someone who is really stupid and apt to cause problems."
To be a student in Graz. "Friendly Alien"? The Kunsthaus Graz, the modern art museum in the Austrian city of Graz, constructed 2003. People think it looks like a octopus - or a pig on its back. On its website, one finds the statement "The designers of this project, the London architects Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, created an impressive synthesis which unites their innovative design language with the historic setting of this urban district along the Mur...While the building’s interior is meant to inspire its curators as a black box of hidden tricks (Colin Fournier), its outer skin is a media façade which can be changed electronically. " The net result, according to the local paper, is that everyone photographs it, and few people actually go inside.
