And one day a mountain appeared 2011-04-11 This telephoto shot is from the recreation area of the small town of Illmitz in Austria showing about 70 km to the eponymous Schneeberg mountain. The Lake Neusiedl can be barely seen behind the blue sign. The vineyards across the lake are above the town of Mörbisch. I have never seen the mountain before from Illmitz.

Fuzzy Goslings 2011-04-09 Not a great shot, but the proud parents were keeping these little ones away from trouble and peering eyes (and telephotos). They are at most a week old, enjoying the warm spring at Lake Neusiedl, south of Vienna. Many thanks for the wonderful comments on my flamingo shot. I had several shots, but I posted this one, mainly because of the drip!

Tulln 2011-02-01 The city of Tulln is a bit upstream on the Danube from Vienna. In summer famous for its gardens and flowers, in winter it is just a quiet provincial town. This view from across the river shows the church (St. Stevens, 13th, 14th & 18th century - and doesn't that yellow catch the evening sun nicely) and the paddle wheel ship "Stadt Wien" built in 1939 and now used for tourist and charter trips along the Danube (but not in winter). Many thanks for your comments on my solo skater. I have no idea what she was thinking, but she was enjoying having lots of space to herself.
