Early Spring 2012-04-13 A view to the east from the top terrace of Schosshof, on Austria's eastern border. Schlosshof was built 1720-30 as a baroque palace for Prince Eugene of Savoy, and suffered neglect and dismantling for most of the 20th century. Restoration began in 2002 (for example, the pond in the foreground has not yet been restored). The March (Morava) River that marks the border is hidden behind the dark green trees, and the village is Devínska Nová Ves in Slovakia. Many thanks for all the kind comments on my rooster shot. He lives in the gardens of Schlosshof.
Attitude 2012-04-12 Spring gets things moving, and this rooster (at Schlosshof in eastern Austria) was making sure that everyone knows that he is king of the barnyard. My goodness, I hadn't realized that I haven't posted for two weeks or so. I'm back at home in Austria.
