Hopping through the woods Last Saturday my wife and I took a walk in the Lainzer Park in Vienna. There is a small herd of Fallow Deer in a large enclosure, including grass land and forest. The buck was patrolling the perimeter, just hopping from place to place. Technically, not a great shot. The sun was behind the hills, so I had to use high ISO and then clean it up.
Mayerling The "Incident at Mayerling" happened on January 30th, 1889 in this hunting lodge outside the small Austrian hamlet of Mayerling, when Crown Prince Rudolf, heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and his mistress Mary Vetsera committed suicide. The Emperor turned the hunting lodge into a convent and still today ten Carmelite nuns live there. The church, museum, and tea room are open to the public.
Reflections The actual title is "Daphne" by the Austrian artist Ines Doujak. This sculpture is in a pond that is part of the "Die Garten" permanent garden exposition in the town of Tulln along the Danube.
