Evening at Foxton Junction Just below the Foxton flight of 10 locks. Restaurant on the left, pub on the right, narrowboats moored for the night. The Leicaster branch of the Grand Union Canal is joined by the Harboro Arm. A good place for spending time (as one inevitably does while queuing for the locks).
Here we come 2012-08-29 We are heading back to England in a few days for another canal holiday. So here is a shot from 2009 - we realized that we've been doing this for twenty years now. Good heavens. This early morning shot shows a stretch of canal near Worchester. More canal pictures from previous trips in my canal gallery http://www.jerrybarton.eu/Landscapes/Canals Many thanks for the comments on the angels.
Le Petit Hibou 2011-07-28 I'm ending my canal series with a picture of the 'little owl' - a privately owned fairly short (10 meters, 34 feet) narrowboat. We passed it a few times during this trip. This early morning moment is one of the many things I like about canal cruising - quiet silent moments away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks for all your comments during the last week. Now if the weather stays dry, we are off to the zoo today.
