Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

The longest aqueduct in Britain. Finished in 1805, it has 18 arches and spans over 300m at a height of 38m and takes about 5 minutes to cross.

Five minutes to cross and is single lane, so there are often queues. Note that there is no handrail or guards on the non-towpath side. As a boat captain, I hated the view down.

Dundas Aqueduct

Carries the Kennet and Avon canal over the River Avon and the GWR tracks.

Dead Slow Passage

Marina moorings on the Somerset Coal Canal, just before meeting the Kennet and Avon. Very tight quarters at these 'unlisted' moorings. Some boats haven't moved for years.
