Morning Stroll 2011-07-26 Another bit of nature along the canals. Moor hens abound along the canals, especially ones with reeds and weeds and shallow bits [none of which is good for cruising, but it is one of the charms of narrow boating that you aren't upsetting nature too much]. This one was on an 'island' between two parallel locks of the Hillmorton flight. Many thanks for putting my 'pushing stones' picture under the top ten for the day. Very much appreciated.
Stepping Stones 2011-07-24 Or perhaps more accurately "pushing stones". Paths like this are under every canal lock gate bar, to give a person more traction when pushing the gate open or closed. A study in texture. [and in my opinion, the bricks have far too much weather damage]. You made my picture of the sheep into number 3 for the day yesterday! many thanks. much appreciated. so many good photos.
