Hurdy Gurdy 2011-06-25 A musician at the same gothic "medieval" festival in Vienna as yesterday's bat-witch. His music was OK, but he was on a stage (notice the microphone pick-up). No green grass and strolling here. I like his costume in any case. Thanks for the kind comments about yesterday's work.
Witch's Dance 2011-06-24 This kind of shot isn't exactly my forté, but here it is. This shot was taken at a 'medieval festival' in Vienna - which usually ends up being more gothic, loud music, lots to eat and drink and drink. This young lady was one of three 'witches' with bat wings. The background was horrible - bleachers, advertisements, other people - so I thought, if she is a bat-witch, I'll put her in a cave. [The cave is also a shot of mine from Gibraltar]. Your many kind comments encourage me. Thank you very much. The Vienna medieval festival wasn't as much fun as the one from yesterday's shot. Thanks for putting the musicians into the top ten for the day.
Minnesang 2011-06-23 Two excellent musicians at last weekend's medieval fair. They were singing to a small group of colleagues and visitors. She had an excellent voice and musical skills and was giving an excellent (as far as I can determine) rendition of one of the medieval love songs written by Walter von der Vogelweide. Like yesterday's shot, this place was just pleasantly fun and everyone was enjoying being there. Update: The instrument she is playing is a Drehleier (German) or Hurdy-Gurdy (English).
