Please Disrobe Here! 2010-08-12: The EuroVelo long distance bicycle Route 6 goes through Vienna on its way from the Atlantic to the Black Sea, and in Vienna it goes right through an FKK area. FKK = Freikörperkultur = Nudism. The nudists are primarily down near the water. This is of course a set scene for the photo - nudism is not required, only permitted. Still, it has widened the eyes of unexpecting cyclists on occasion (especially those who don't speak German). Have some fun today.

Fish! 2010-07-28: Back in the Danube Wetlands in Vienna - the water does flow (and this year there certainly is enough). Not too sure about the processing on this - I haven't done much B&W. Thanks for your generous comments on my street scene.

Napoleon crossing 2010-07-26: Went for a walk yesterday and ended up here - on a foot bridge over the Danube. Well, not quite today's Danube. But a few years ago (1809) when Napoleon occupied Vienna, this was still part of the meandering Danube and today it is still marsh and part of the Danube Wetlands National Park. Napoleon still had to attack the Austrian army on the eastern bank, so his army crossed the Danube here on pontoon bridges in late May. He was defeated and withdrew back to downtown Vienna - but crossed again in July and defeated the Austrians (Battle of Wagram). P.S. This area is also within the city limits. I was out most of the day yesterday, so didn't have a chance to comment much - today will be better. Thanks for your comments yesterday.
