Danube Crossing 2011-09-08 The Danube at the Reichsbrücke bridge in Vienna. The church is the St. Francis of Assisi church at Mexikoplatz. Tiny in the background you can see the top of one of the Prater amusement park rides - a high swing. The boat is one of the numerous Danube cruise boats that travel down to Romania and as far north as Rotterdam (via the Rhine river). Let's see what happens with this shot. Yesterday's shot sank into darkness despite comments.

Old and New 2011-07-02 A classic theme, this time with the windows of the recently (last decade) renovated Hilton Hotel Stadtpark in Vienna reflecting the building that housed the Austrian Mint (Munzamt). Many thanks for the comments on my butterfly shot yesterday.

Vienna 1400s 2011-06-26 One of the many models of Vienna in the Museum der Stadt Wien. This one shows St. Stephan's with the south tower but without the north tower. Still lots of walls, but the basic design of the inner city (now 1st district) was already there.
