The Ring Tower The "Ringturm" was Austria's first "skyscraper" constructed 1953-1955 at the end of the post-war occupation. It has 23 floors and a pole on the top that flashes different lights for different weather conditions. It is a plain 1950s concrete/steel/glass box, but for the last decade it has been wrapped in art every summer. This year's wrap is "Schleier der Agnes" (Agnes' Veil) by Arnolf Rainer.
Entrance to Vienna II This is another shot of the bridge at the beginning of the Danube Canal, designed by Otto Wagner. I posted an 'almost silhouette' about a week ago (http://www.jerrybarton.eu/Miscellaneous/DailyPicks/i-qN6H6cW). This shot has a fair amount of pp - some Orton, some Topaz Detail, a brighter sky, some change of colors. I wanted more 'illustration' rather than reality.
The "Schemerl Bridge" (dedicated to Josef Schmerl, who designed the first project for regulating the Danube) is a Fin de Siècle bridge designed by Otto Wagner. It is at the beginning of the Danube Canal, and Otto Wagner considered it the "entrance to Vienna" I took this shot mainly to have some sky to clone into blown highlights in other shots, but thought that with a bit of sepia it was interesting in its own right. A more 'normal' shot can be seen here: http://www.jerrybarton.eu/Landscapes/Europe/Vienna/Viennascapes/
