Gulp 2012-03-21 I'm not sure what kind of bird this is - the curved bill makes me guess "Ibis", but the colors are not right for an Ibis. At any rate, it swallowed the fish even before its bill left the water. It seems to have a satisfied look on its face. Update: It is a glossy ibis. Thanks Lori and your friend Jason Many thanks for the comments on my dragonfly/alligator combination.
Catching a ride 2012-03-20 I must admit that I didn't even see the dragonfly when I took the picture. Seen in the Myakka River, Florida. And many thanks not only for the comments on the butterfly shot, but for the additional comments on my osprey shot. Much appreciated.
Zebra Heliconian 2012-03-17 Fifty young zebra H. butterflies were released yesterday at The Butterfly Estates in Ft. Myers, Florida. True thanks for all the wonderful comments on the osprey shot yesterday. When I went to sleep it was number 4 for the day. You are amazing!
