Gaining Altitude But never losing sight of the goal. This is one of the falcons shown in the bird show near Lake Geneva, as I've been posting for the last three days.
Bateleur Eagle Let's end this series of bird shots with a noble eagle - native to sub-Saharan Africa. Also seen at the bird show near Lake Geneva. I must say that I feel better about this show after doing a bit of research and finding that the creator of the show and breeding program is one Jacques-Olivier Travers, the man who has pioneered techniques for sensitizing eagles grown in captivity to life in the wild - by flying with them on paragliders and other extreme sports. Full disclosure: This eagle was in its enclosure - the background is mine from nearby France. P.S. My wife says this looks like an advertising shot for a security company.
Swallows at their "Home Depot" Two swallows fetching building materials. Such muddy puddles have become rare in Austria over the last two weeks of heat wave - and I suspect that someone nearby has keep it wet on purpose for the birds.
