Fledglings 2012-03-12 These are Anhinga chicks. Already learning how to hold their wings out for drying even though they haven't left the nest. Seen at the Venice FL rookery. Many thanks for the comments on the papa Anhinga shot.
Eagles 2012-03-06 This pair has a nest in Cedar Point State Park, Florida. They are caring for a second set of eggs, since the first ones didn't survive this year. I took some OK shots in the morning - but the sun was behind the nest, so I came back just before sunset. Thanks for the kind comments on yesterday's egret shot!
Just a brown pelican 2012-03-07 When you go to fishing docks, you find pelicans that are not shy. Even though I didn't have a fish, I got fairly close to this one (still using the telephoto lens, though). Thanks for the comments about the eagles - one of my two best eagle shots.
