A Sanderling 2011-02-07 These small birds run up and down the edge of the waves all along the Gulf coast. Thanks for the interesting comments on the "Gater Bites". I did indeed have some (but not at this stand) and it was kind of like chicken - kind of a reptile McNuggets.

"Here I am sitting all day on the eggs, and there you are preening yourself and getting ready to fly off. Don't forget to pick up some food on your way home. And don't be too late." I really aprreciate all the comments on the remembrance altar. It is indeed the time of year for remembrance.
2010-11-09 A Superb Starling at the Chester Zoo, England. The back and wings are bright blue. The number of comments on my bird series has been amazing. A new Smugmugger has contacted me with some questions, and I've answered and also pointed her towards the photo improvement blog by another SMer. That's what community is about. Thanks to all of you. And thanks to Rob for identifying the bird! Here is another shot showing the plumage.
