Nest Building 2011-05-07 This shot was taken in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. This shot *is* a heron (as opposed to yesterday's shot of a vulture). Who knows, it may be one of the same herons I saw two months ago in Florida.
Not a Heron 2011-05-05 I was taking pictures of Heron at a rookerie in Ohio a few days ago, and saw this vulture. One of the other photographers there (with a 500mm lens, extender, etc) hurried over to tell me "that's not a heron". I told him my wife really likes vultures, soaring on the updrafts. So this one is for my wife. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my robin shot yesterday.
Is it Spring yet? 2011-05-04 More cold, rainy weather in northern Ohio. Even the birds seem subdued.
