Is it Spring yet? 2011-05-04 More cold, rainy weather in northern Ohio. Even the birds seem subdued.

Purple Attack 2011-05-01 Between family responsibilities, I had Friday to myself here in Cleveland, Ohio. The weather was bad, but at least it didn't rain in the afternoon, so I went out and took pictures. Overcast & low light, so this is high ISO - not such good quality. The Purple Martins are returning to their summer homes. This one is by the former Ohio-Erie Canal, south of Cleveland.

Great Spotted (Peanut)-pecker. This bird and its mate are still visiting our peanut feeder daily. Enjoy the day and thanks for the comments on yesterday's shot from our garden.
