Flashing Blue This butterfly was resting on the path, with its wings flashing blue as they slowly opened and closed.
Here he comes again 2010-08-26 The (presumably) male in the background kept buzzing this small butterfly that was feeding. Seen the the Upper Lobau section of the Danube Wetlands National Park. My butterfly book seems to have been mislaid - so this is an "Orange multi-spotted". Seen while I was bicycling around the park yesterday. It was a great day to be out. More shots from this little outing are in the park gallery: http://www.jerrybarton.eu/Landscapes/Danube-National-Park/8024413_Qn5S9#983074436_ixsmy I am totally flabbergasted by the number of comments on yesterday's picture - and the one from the day before. Thank you all. Great people all.
Common Darter 2010-08-18 A couple days ago while my wife was tossing boots around with her team (see 8-16), I was taking pictures. This dragonfly came by to watch the fun. One of the most frequently seen kinds around the Danube wetlands. And thank you all for your comments on the 1920s housing shot yesterday. I like the subtle colors and I think that shot reflects the colors actually used in the stucco - nothing loud in this courtyard. Another busy day today.
