Apricot Season 2013-04-24 Along the Danube, especially in the Wachau region, the apricot trees are in full blossom. Sunday was a peak 'blossom sighting' day, with car traffic along the river-side roads moving very slowly indeed. This shot was taken while waiting for a ferry to cross the river at Spitz an der Donau. many thanks for the enthusiastic comments about the young herons.

Growing Fast 2013-04-22 A few days ago I posted a shot of a newly born Heron and mother (http://www.jerrybarton.eu/gallery/12809003_GAzkc#!i=2463722719&k=Jh59WCR) Here is the update - two chicks getting bigger quickly. I may manage another shot in a few days, but leaves are now growing on the trees. Many thanks for your kind comments on the white heron shot. I'll keep trying for a closer one.

Peach blossoms 2013-03-20 We have a small young peach tree in the garden, against the shed wall where it is somewhat protected. There were no buds until a few days ago, and now it is in full bloom. I think Nature is trying to catch up. Thanks for the kind comments on yesterday's hawk.
