Yes, Virginia, the wild garlic is sprouting. Wild garlic (Allium ursinum – known as ramsons, buckrams, wild garlic, broad-leaved garlic, wood garlic, bear leek or bear's garlic, according to Wikipedia) is common across Europe. It is an essential part of early spring, being used as a 'spring tonic' in salads, soups, cheese spreads. Here is a wild field in Vienna's Lobau park. Just don't confuse it with Lilly of the Valley, which is poison.
Early Spring in our Garden Warm and sunny yesterday - the plants and insects were out and about. [Today is cold and wet, but oh well]
Autumn in the Vineyard The grape harvest is long over. The first 'young wine' will be tasted on November 11th. The leaves are turning yellow, red, brown as the temperatures slowly drop. Seen in one of Vienna's many vineyards. Many thanks for the kind comments on my cemetery shot.
