Icy Lavender 2010-12-6 Another icy shot from our garden. This one of a lavender plant. My wife has gone out every day to brush the snow off it - now the ice has encased it. Many thanks for the comments yesterday. I have no idea how that plant spreads its pollen - perhaps only in early spring when it is just finishing blooming.
Frosty Morning 2010-12-5 Our Viburnum Dawn, still trying to flower from November to March. After three days of heavy snowfall, this morning was -10C with freezing fog. Still, this bush is the only spot of color in the garden. We get such (for us) extreme weather once every 15 years or so. P.S. The background is just the sky, with a touch of blue added by me. Thanks for the comments on my pick from the archives!
Christmas Cactus 2010-11-26 Purchased a week ago, it is doing well on the dining room table. Perhaps it should be renamed to "advent cactus". Enjoy the day!
