Drösing An Austrian town on the March/Morava River, with Canola growing on the rise above the town. The town has about 550 households with a population of roughly 1,200, it was founded in 1293. The hills in the background are Slovakian. About 35,000 hectare are planted with Canola in Austria, mainly for bio-diesel and for food oil.
Unfinished Canal The (fortunately) unfinished Donau-Oder Kanal in the Lobau section of the park, now used by birds and fish as a habitat. Already planned in the 14th century (!), because of political separation it was only begone in 1939, and the Vienna end stopped in 1940. Today it it 1.6 km long and 2-3 meters deep, connecting to the Danube.
